Alkaline vs Acidic Food List

They say if you are trying to restore your health then you need to eat 80% alkaline forming foods and 20% acidic forming foods.  (Remember, going beyond this can be unhealthy and as I have said before it's about balance.) And to maintain your health the ratio is 60% alkaline to 40% acidic.  Also, when looking at this list keep in mind alkaline forming foods.  For example, you might look at the list and think.. lemons are acidic!  But remember it is the byproduct that is important, what it creates when it is being digested, which is alkaline.

Below I have categorized the foods into sections of:
  • Healthy: Great alkaline forming choices that you can eat!
  • Moderate: This will be a list of healthy foods which are both acidic and barely alkaline and also will be the list you will want to choose your acidic foods from.
  • Unhealthy: These are all acidic foods that you will want to avoid!

Healthy: Alkaline forming
Moderate: Mix

There are lots of lists out there.  This one is one I compiled on my own from the research I have done.  Use it at your own discretion.  And don't be afraid of the Moderate column... I know there are a lot of acidic items but they are still good for you and need to be incorporated into your diet. A lot of these items are tetering close to the neutral line. Remember everything in moderation and balance is important!
